LOVE FOR DIL BECHARA

LOVE FOR DIL BECHARA

Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude-Anne Frank.

The trailer of the movie ‘Dil Bechara’ released on July 6, 2020is making the whole nation emotional. The film is set to be released on July 24 on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Mukesh Chabra and starring Late Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, the movie is about the love story of two cancer patients. It is based on the novel “The Fault in Our Stars”.

People are appreciating the work he has done till date and trailer is all over social media. What if the Actor was alive? Would he be getting the same recognition and such amount of love for the movie?

His death was heartbreaking, but the fact that he and many other people like him went unnoticed when they were alive, is all the more heartbreaking.

HOW WE TREAT THE LIVING-

Many times we say/do bad things to people and we don’t even feel bad about it. Even if we realize that we hurt someone, instead of saying sorry, we choose to let it go or expect that it will disappear or go unnoticed. But what we say about ‘karma’is it always comes back to us. We give out pain and pain comes back to us, be it in any form, in the form of regret too.

It would have been easier to stay away from regret if we always kept in mind the whole time that none of us are immortal, our lives are temporary. So instead of hurting someone with our sharp words or deeds and later regretting it, we could just keep in mind(the basic truth of our lives).

Gratitude is a beautiful quality. It can help us lead happier lives and also see goodness in the little things of people.

They say that the devil is the first to be cursed by God with the pain of regret because he failed to find a sense of gratitude in his faith and so was given an eternal punishment in hell. Are we the devil of today?I really hope we do not become one.

WHY DO WE BEHAVE AS SUCH?

We seem to value people when they are no more, instead of valuing them when they are alive and that could be because of jealousy, ego, the habit of taking people and things for granted, and much more. Even our holy scriptures say that-“The only thing we leave on this Earth is our memories, our good deeds”. So, we should be humble to all people.

Taking into account about the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput, it was stated that he was undergoing depression from the last 6 months and on top of that he was involved in various blind items, he believed that somebody was trying to tarnish his image. People have accused Karan Johar on social media for mocking Sushant on his chat show, Koffee with Karan.

Actor Koena had further said that “Those writing essays mourning his death used to mock him because he was a TV star”.

Sushant  had mentioned that it is important that his work is appreciated because he does not have a godfather in the industry to rely upon. Yet, some of his great work went unnoticed as they were not on our radar, but are worth giving time. People were not even aware of movies like-Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and Sonchiriya etc.

WHAT WE  NEED TO STOP  DOING-

With the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the star kids are targeted. They are harassed with ‘hate comments’. Actors like Saqib Saleem and Sonakshi Sinha have left social media platform like ‘twitter’ as it made them feel quite negative.

Are we in some kind of blame game and are playing with the peace of mind of people so that they are forced to die by suicide? Are we also not responsible for not appreciating his work?

This pandemic has been hard for everyone, we just need to learn to be grateful to people when they are alive. We should learn to be kind, as we don’t know what one is going through.

CONCLUSION:-

A line that Sushant said in the trailer really touches one’s heart. He says-“We don’t get to decide when to be born and when to die. But what we can decide is how to live our lives”.This is also the message of the movie.

Some actors have taken the responsibility of promoting the movie. They are in this way trying to serve as a friend. They are Rajkumar Rao, Kartik Aryan, Bhoomi Pednekar, Shraddha Kapoor, A.R Rahman, to name a few.

Disney India Chairman-Uday Shankar says that he feels delighted to release the work of a brilliant actor on Disney+ Hotstar, which will be available to people without Hotstar Subscription too.

People have demanded that the movie be released in theatre halls. We should ask for the movie’s release in other platforms too as everyone is not Tech Savvy in using applications and the movie can go unnoticed by some part of the audience, and give it our love.
