DC FanDome’s 9 Biggest Film Reveals!

Warner Bros. officially kick-started a DC Extended Universe with a bang of new releases and revelations at its very first virtual convention, DC FanDome.

The wait has fans going crazy but they were treated with trailers at the DC FanDome event and it has only made the fans more excited! The convention included our first look at Cheetah in a brand-new Wonder Woman trailer, the first trailer for The Batman – and clearest indication of its story – and so much more.

From Warner Bros. Games Montreal’s Gotham Knights reveal (including nearly eight minutes of footage) to the first trailer for Zack Snyder’s Justice League and an update on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series at Netflix, a lot happened.

Wonder Woman 1984 trailer introduces Cheetah

Release date: October 2, 2020

Diana (Gal Gadot) returns in another tale of Wonder Woman’s past. This time, Diana’s adventures in the Cold War 1980s see her making a new friend, Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig). Yet Wonder Woman’s envy that Barbara shares with her glory days comics counterpart will drive her to become one of Diana’s biggest enemies: the Cheetah, whom we get a first look at in the trailer just released dropped at DC FanDome.

As famed DC Comics industrialist Maxwell Lord, whose status as a hero or villain depends on the story, Pedro Pascal will also be bringing his charms to the film.

Chris Pine also returns as Steve Trevor. Having followed the schedule shake-ups after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wonder Woman 1984 would be relocating from Aug. 14 to Oct. 2. At FanDome, director Patty Jenkins emphasized that she was committed to opening Wonder Woman 1984 on the big screen, so the fans need not be surprised if that date shifts again if more theaters aren’t opened in the next few months.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Release date: Early to Mid-2021

After years of waiting, Zack Snyder’s Justice League made its triumphant bow at DC FanDome with a new trailer. The HBO Max release is set for 2021

The panel for the upcoming Zack Snyder cut of Justice League revealed that the film would now be a miniseries, released as four separate one-hour episodes on HBO Max. Snyder said they would then likely also release it as a combined film, while also noting a distribution plan was being discussed for countries that don’t currently have HBO Max.

The Suicide Squad

Releasing on: October 1, 2021

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn revealed who’s playing which villain in the 2021 movie Saturday at DC FanDome, and shared a teaser with some footage and behind-the-scenes glimpses at the action-packed movie.

And if you thought the Avengers had a huge group, buckle up, because The Suicide Squad is enormous. Here’s the full character list, as shared by Gunn on Twitter:

The batman

Releasing on: October 1, 2021

“The Batman” writer-director Matt Reeves unveiled the first trailer for the film during the final panel for the DC FanDome event on Saturday.

Warner Bros. also released a series of first look images of Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and Batman from the film.

Reeves has been regularly teasing glimpses of his film, starting in February with a video of Pattinson wearing the Batsuit with a snippet of Michael Giacchino’s score for the film.

The show will focus on a corrupt cop during the first year of the emergence of Batman in Gotham City. HBO Max picked up the show with a series commitment.

Black Adam

Release date: December 22, 2021

Black Adam will introduce the Justice Society of America into the DCEU with Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher making their big-screen debuts

The DC project has been in the works for years, with Dwayne Johnson saying that the ‘complex & gritty anti-hero’ character of Black Adam is ‘in my bones’.

“The DC comic’s superhero character is blessed by magic with powers equal to Superman. Adam is rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who will always do right for the people,” wrote Johnson while describing his character.

From a script by Adam Sztykiel, Jaume Collet-Serra will direct with Noah Centineo on board as well to play Albert Rothstein / Atom Smasher, whose superpower is his superpower and ability to rise big.


Release Date: June 3, 2022

Faster than a speeding bullet, DC provided a lightning-quick burst of The Flash details at FanDome, including a new suit for the Scarlet Speedster and the potential of the multverse.

“This film is immensely important. These DC characters exist in their own bubble… this movie, by opening the door that Flashpoint did in the comics, all these stories and characters start to collide,” Ezra Miller teased of just how important the 2022 release could be to the DC universe (and multiverse) at large.

Barry Allen is also getting a new Flash suit, designed by Bruce Wayne. Andy Muschietti revealed two pieces of concept art of The Flash’s new get-up.

“The most important thing is that it gets to your heart,” director Andy Muschietti said of The Flash. Those who know their comics know full well that Flashpoint – on which The Flash is to be loosely based – is filled with emotional moments and gut punches galore.


Release Date: November 4, 2022

The title of the much-anticipated second installment of the superhero franchise was revealed during the DC FanDome virtual convention.

The sequel to Zachary Levi-led superhero movie Shazam! is titled Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Other than that, is the director David F. With star Zachary Levy and co-stars Asher Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer Sandberg is back. The Shazam ending credits stinger! Our hero could face Mister Mind, one of the smallest but most powerful villains in the DC universe, revealed.

DC FanDome’s 9 Biggest Film Reveals!, DC FanDome, Aquaman,

Filmmaker James Wan is working on expanding the world of Jason Momoa-starrer ‘Aquaman’, and says the second chapter will come with more serious and relevant tones.

Taking a character from the DC Extended Universe, Aquaman traces the origins of how half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry (Momoa) embraces his identity as the superhero. Along with a heart-warming tale of family and love, the film also focuses on a relevant message – marine pollution.

The studio wanted Wan to develop the project before deciding whether to direct or not, according to reports following the spectacular box office success of the first film in December 2018. David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, a co-writer on the first film, soon emerged to write the follow-up, and at the end of February last year, Warner Bros. scheduled it for a 2022 release.

Gotham Knights

Releasing: 2021

Warner Bros. Games Montreal unveiled its new game set within Batman’s world.

In the aftermath of Batman’s death, Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin become the superhero/vigilantes of Gotham City. In the trailer, there is also a glimpse of the Court of Owls. The screen also flashes with a single Talon, a Court of Owls elite. The gamers will be able to play as a single character or team up with another.

“The team is thrilled to announce Gotham Knights and share our work in bringing a different story of the DC Super Heroes to the forefront,” Warner Bros. Games Montréal creative director Patrick Redding said. “We’re looking forward to fans playing and enjoying a lot of action as this new guard of strong DC Super Heroes in Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, while solving an original mystery set against a living, breathing Gotham City.”
